expectations and commitments
Board members play a vital role in shaping the direction, sustainability, and impact of The Sustainable Living Project. We are looking for individuals who bring commitment, collaboration, and a passion for community-based change.
General Responsibilities:
Attend monthly board meetings (virtual or in person)
Serve on at least one committee (e.g., Fundraising, Outreach, Finance)
Participate in strategic planning and annual goal setting
Help support fundraising efforts — whether through a personal contribution, connecting us with potential donors or sponsors, or contributing time and skills to fundraising initiatives
Act as an ambassador for SLP within your networks
Review and approve major policies, budgets, and initiatives
Time Commitment:
Estimated 3–6 hours per month (including meetings and committee work)
Board terms are two years, renewable upon mutual agreement
We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds, especially those with experience in nonprofit leadership, urban agriculture, education, military service, sustainability, health and wellness, law, or marketing.
